A pleasing perfect-every-time recipe from the late 1950's. From my Southern belle great-grandmother's recipe collection. Absolutely delicious with her Maple Spread I am posting! Ingredients:
2 cups self-rising flour |
1/4 cup regular mayonnaise (not light or fat-free) |
1 cup whole milk |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 425*. 2. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin. 3. In medium bowl combine flour, mayonnaise & milk. Using a fork, stir only enough to moisten flour. 4. Divide dough equally between muffin cups. 5. Bake for 20 minutes and serve warm with butter, honey, jam or my posted Maple Spread. |
