Super easy well liked by date haters. Many a convert with this easy appetizer. Ingredients:
good quality bacon, partial cooked to render off some of the fat |
pitted dates |
cheese of choice, sharp white cheddar |
jalapeno jack |
softened herb goat cheese |
smoked edam |
saga blue |
Directions:
1. Stuff each date with a cube of cheese, wrap with bacon and secure with a tooth pick. 2. Broil each date until bacon is crisp and serve. 3. Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon. 4. Doug Larson 5. *************************************************************** 6. Alternately I have also added the following to the basic date: 7. Honey and chopped pistachio nuts 8. Fill each date with a nugget size of goat cheese, wrap with 9. proscuitto and chill until firm. 10. At time of service, drizzle platter with a tiny amount of honey and sprinkle generously with chopped pistachio nuts. 11. (I brush the filled dates with the honey and roll them in the chopped nuts to make them stick to the dates) |
