This is my mom's Beef Stroganoff, my way! Easy easy, and always a hit. Ingredients:
2 lbs sirloin tips |
extra virgin olive oil |
seasoned salt |
garlic pepper |
unseasoned meat tenderizer |
worcestershire sauce |
montreal steak seasoning |
1/2 pkg dry beefy onion soup mix (or onion) |
2 t minced onion |
1 can sliced musrooms, drained |
1 can mushroom soup |
2 soup cans water (or, one soup can beef stock and one soup can water) |
4 t sour cream |
2 t cornstarch |
2 t water |
minute rice or egg noodles, (cooked according to directions, for six servings) |
Directions:
1. Lightly drizzle a little extra vrigin olive oil over beef tips, and season well with seasonings 2. Place in slow cooker 3. Stir together Mushrooms, onion, soup, water/beef stock, dry soup mix and pour over meat 4. Cook on low 6-8 hours 5. ** If my meat is frozen, I leave it that way. It will be nice and brown and tender when you get home from work. Just cut back a little on the water ** 6. Remove slow cooker from base and place on stovetop, OR Transfer beef and sauce to stove top pot just before serving and bring to low boil 7. Mix together the cornstarch and 2 T water 8. Pour into pot and stir to thicken gravy 9. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream 10. Serve over rice or noodles |
