Here's a wonderful recipe from Eagle Brand for a lovely chocolate mousse cake. The addition of the condensed milk makes a wonderful filling for the cake that's rich and creamy. This recipe is a tried and true family favorite and is perfect for any occasion. Ingredients:
1 box of chocolate cake mix |
1 14-ounce can eagle brand® sweetened condensed milk |
2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, melted |
1/2 cup cold water |
1 4-serving size package instant chocolate pudding mix |
1 cup of heavy cream, stiffly whipped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Prepare and bake cake mix as package directs for two 9-inch layers. Remove cakes from pans; cool. 2. In large bowl, beat EAGLE BRAND® and chocolate until well blended. 3. Gradually beat in water and pudding mix until smooth. 4. Chill 30 minutes. 5. Beat until smooth. Fold in whipped cream. 6. Chill at least one hour. 7. Place one cake layer on serving plate; top with 1 1/2 cups mousse mixture. 8. Top with remaining cake layer. 9.
