Easy Chocolate Cream Pie

I offered to make dessert this last Christmas for our family dinner because I wanted something different than the usual pumpkin or mince pie. This was a big hit. I liked it because it was so easy (I am not much of a dessert cooker! Read more !)
Ingredients:
6 oz milk chocolate (4 regular sized hersey chocolate bars)
1/4 cup milk
3 oz cream cheese at room temperature
8 oz cool whip (frozen)
1 chocolate wafer or graham cracker pie crust (9 inch)
Directions:
1. Break up chocolate bars and add to milk in a glass measuring cup or bowl.
2. Microwave to melt chocolate.
3. With electric mixer, blend chocolate and milk mixture. Add cream cheese and blend well.
4. Fold in 1/2 of whipped topping.
5. Pour into pie shell and refrigerate until set.
6. Top with remaining whipped topping to serve.
7. Garnish with bits of shaved chocolate, if desired.
8. (I put this in the freezer before I transported it to keep it really cold. Prep time includes refrigerator/freezer time.)
