This is a recipe that I found in diabetes and you. This is going to be our dinner tonight with the chipolte cornbread. Ingredients:
1 pound extra lean turkey ( called for ground beef) |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 package tex- mex chili seasoning mix |
1 can(28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained |
1 can ( 28 oz) crushed tomatoes |
1 can ( 15 oz) spicy chili beans, undrained |
1 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, coarsely chopped |
Directions:
1. In 4 quart Dutch oven, cook turkey and onion over medium heat; stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked 2. drain 3. Stir in seasoning mix, both tomatoes and beans. 4. Heat to boiling over high hear. 5. reduce heat to low; cover and cook 15 minute, stirring occasionally, to blend flavors 6. stir in chocolate just until melted 7. ==================================== 8. Per Serving 9. calories 270 10. total fat8g ( saturated fat 3g, Trans fats 0g) 11. cholesterol 35 mg 12. sodium 830 mg 13. potassium 830 mg 14. total carbohydrates 32g 15. dietary fiber 7g 16. protein 18 g 17. ====================================== 18. I plan to put this bad boy into the crock pot and allow it to cook all day. Plus add the chipotle cornbread. |
