wonderful European cherry, cheese dessert tip: 4 leaves of gelatin usually equal one, 1/4 oz envelope powdered about 7 grams or 1 Tbs. Powdered vanilla sugar, just substitute 1 tsp vanilla extract Most supermarkets today carry many of the European pkg of vaniila sugar etc. Ingredients:
250 g mascarpone cheese |
100 ml cold milk |
2 heaping tbs powdered sugar |
1 pkg vanilla sugar or use 1 tsp vanilla extract |
some grated lemon zest |
2 gelatin leaves |
1 to 2 tbs water |
12 italian lady fingers , 60 grams |
350 gm sour or pitted cherries from a jar |
6 to 8 tbs kirsch liquer |
Directions:
1. Drain cherries, reserve for another recipe 2. Disslove gelatin in some water, about 1 to 2 Tbs, in a small saucepan over low heat. 3. Mix marscarpone with vanilla sugar, powdered sugar and cold milk 4. Combine well both mixtures together 5. Stir in lemon zest. 6. In each of 4 dessert glasses place 2 Tbs cherries, then some of the cheese mixture 7. Then place on some crumbled Ladyfingers, about 3 per dessert glass 8. Top with remaining cheese mixture 9. Drizzle with Kirsch 10. Chill well in the refrigerator |
