Easy Cheese 'n Sausage Strata |

Great easy recipe for brunch or even supper! Prep time does not include chilling time. Ingredients:
1/2 lb bulk pork sausage |
1 cup sliced mushrooms |
1/4 cup sliced green onion |
1/2 lb velveeta cheese, cubed |
4 cups bread cubes (3/4-inch) |
1 cup milk |
4 eggs |
Directions:
1. Brown sausage, drain grease. 2. Add vegetables and continue cooking 5 minutes, drain if needed. 3. Set aside to cool 10 minutes. 4. Stir in velveeta and bread cubes. 5. Place in a greased 8 square baking dish. 6. Beat milk and eggs. 7. Pour over sausage mixture. 8. Cover, refrigerate several hours. 9. Preheat oven to 350ยบ. 10. Uncover strata and bake 50-55 minutes or until golden brown. 11. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. 12. Garnish with additional sliced green onions if desired. |
