This is a delicious way to cook brisket. I use two five pound briskets for this amount of marinade. The leftovers make great sandwiches. I do use the lower sodium soy sauce. Ingredients:
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can beef consomme |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can beef broth |
1/2 cup lemon juice |
3/4 cup red wine |
4 garlic cloves, chopped |
1 tablespoon liquid smoke |
1/2 cup soy sauce |
10 lbs beef brisket (i use two five pound briskets) |
Directions:
1. Combine the first seven ingredients and pour over the brisket. Allow to marinate for 24 hours in the refrigerator. 2. When ready to bake, place the beef brisket in a roasting pan and pour the marinade over it. 3. Cover the pan with a lid or foil and bake in a 325 degree oven for 4 hours or until tender. 4. Transfer the beef to a cutting board and slice against the grain. Pour some of the liquid back onto the meat to keep it moist. Save the juice to pour on any leftovers. |
