I first made this using prepared gravy. The flavor was good but the gravy was way too thin with the liquid that cooked out of the meat. Sometimes I let the meat cook for a couple of hours without adding anything, pour off the liquid then add the gravy mix. I like a really thick gravy with this. I serve it over mashed potatoes or rice. Also very good on buns with peppers and onions. Ingredients:
2 lbs lean stewing beef |
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package dry beef gravy mix |
Directions:
1. Place meat into crock pot and sprinkle dry gravy mix over it. 2. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. 3. Shred meat with fork. |
