Here's a simple recipe made with ingredients one usually has on hand. Not too sweet or spicy, you can adjust recipe to your personal taste. I ran across this recipe years ago, when I had run out of sauce and didn't want to make a trip to the store. Ingredients:
1 cup catsup |
1 cup water |
1/4 cup cider vinegar |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon celery seed |
ground red pepper (optional) or bottled hot pepper sauce, to give the sauce a little heat, you may add a little (optional) |
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. 2. Baste grilled meats with the sauce and serve extra sauce on the side. |
