Easy to make and great on a cold day. Ingredients:
4 large baking potatoes - cut into cubes |
2/3 cup butter or margarine (i usually use 2 sticks) |
2/3 cup flower |
6 cups milk |
4 green onions - sliced |
12 slices cooked bacon- crumbled |
1 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 8oz. carton of sour cream |
1 tablespoon chicken base |
salt to taste |
pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 2. Wash potatoes, prick with fork, and microwave just like you would as baked potatoes (leave skin on) 3. Place bacon on baking sheet and cook until brown (about 15 min) 4. Melt butter in large sauce pan on low heat 5. Add flour stirring until smooth (about 1 minute) 6. Add milk one cup at a time, stirring as you add 7. Cook over medium heat until it is thick 8. Add all ingredients except sour cream, cook & stir until heated, then add the sour cream. 9. * A side note I normally save the bacon drippings for other recipes |
