This came from Better Homes and Garden's All-Time Favorite Vegetable Recipes cookbook. I have not tried this recipe. Ingredients:
4 slices bacon |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
32 ounces canned pork and beans in tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons catsup |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon till crisp. Remove bacon, reserving about 3 tablespoons drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon and set aside. Cook onion in reserved drippings till tender. Stir in pork and beans, brown sugar, catsup, worcestershire, and mustard. 2. Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hours. Stir; top with bacon. Let stand a few minutes before serving. |
