Easy and Tasty Granny Smith Cake |

I got this recipe from a fabulous woman I used to work with. It's so easy but really tasty. Great for taking to potlucks or other functions. Ingredients:
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix (i use duncan hines) |
3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix) |
1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix) |
1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix) |
2 granny smith apples |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2 tablespoons cinnamon |
1 (8 ounce) container heavy whipping cream (i think it's 8oz, the standard size in the dairy section) |
Directions:
1. Prepare yellow cake mix according to directions, including greasing your cake pan.
2. Pour into pan.
3. Peel and chop apples.
4. Toss apples in sugar/cinnamon mixture until coated.
5. Drop apples into cake mixture.
6. Pour heavy whipping cream over cake mixture.
7. Bake according to directions on cake mix box.
8. Serve with whipped cream and or ice cream.
