I can never seem to find an Alfredo sauce I like. FINALLY I did! It is very easy to make and uses ingredients that you typically have around the house. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
4 ounces cream cheese (half of a cream cheese block) |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
1 cup milk, divided |
3 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated or 3 ounces parmesan cheese |
1 dash ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. 2. Add cream cheese and garlic salt, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. 3. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. 4. Stir in mozzarella or parmesan cheese and pepper. 5. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. 6. Sauce will thicken rapidly; thin with milk if cooked too long. 7. Toss with hot pasta to serve. |
