Extra-tart vinegar adds tang to finely chopped Eastern North Carolina Slaw. Ingredients:
1/2 cup white vinegar |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
1/2 head green cabbage (about 1 lb.), grated |
1/2 cup chopped celery |
hot sauce |
Directions:
1. Whisk together vinegar, sugar, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Add cabbage and celery; toss to coat. Let stand 1 hour before serving, tossing occasionally. Serve with hot sauce. |
