I got this recipe from a magazine. Choucroute is French for dressed sauerkraut . I haven't made this but it sounds tasty. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 1/2 lbs thin boneless pork chops, cut into 1/2-inch slices |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 large onion, thinly sliced |
2 apple flavored chicken sausage, fully cooked, sliced into 1/2 coins |
1 (12 ounce) bottle dark beer |
1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix |
1/4 cup cider vinegar |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 teaspoon caraway seed |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/8 cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in large skillet. 2. Add pork and season with 1/8 tsp salt and black pepper. 3. Cook 3-4 minutes until cooked through. 4. Remove and set aside. 5. Add onion and sausage to skillet. 6. Cook 5 minutes. 7. Add beer and scrape up any browned bits. 8. Stir in coleslaw mix, vinegar, brown sugar, caraway seed and 1/2 tsp salt. 9. Cook 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. 10. Add pork to pan and heat through. 11. Garnish with parsley and serve. |
