These unusual biscuits treats are delicious served with coffee. They also make an ideal dessert to serve with ice cream…Can also be made with ground hazelnuts. Ingredients:
2 egg whites |
225g/ 1 cup caster sugar |
175g/ 1 2/3 cups ground almonds |
225g/ 8 oz plain chocolate |
Directions:
1. Cover two baking sheets with parchment paper and preheat oven to 350 F. 2. Whisk the egg whites until stiff, then fold in the sugar and ground nuts. Place the mixture in a large piping bag fitted with 1/2 inch plain nozzle and pipe fingers, about 3 inches long, allowing space to spread during baking. 3. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. 4. Melt the chocolate and drizzle over the top the biscuits. Leave to set before serving. |
