Dutch Delicious Apple Pie |

This is a tasty pie using Golden Delicious apples. Ingredients:
1 9 unbaked pie shell |
6 cups thinly sliced golden delicious apples |
1/3 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
2 tablespoons flour |
1 cup whipping cream |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 tablespoons sugar |
3 tablespoons flour |
Directions:
1. Crumb Topping: blend together the butter, sugar and flour to form crumbles. Set aside. 2. Line pie pan with pastry. 3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 4. Arrange apples in neat rings in pan. 5. Place sugar, flour, salt, ginger and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. 6. Stir in cream gradually blending as it is added. Pour over apples. 7. Cover with aluminum foil. 8. Bake until apples are soft, about 40 minutes. 9. Remove foil, sprinkle crumb topping over pie and bake about 10 to 15 minutes more, until top is nicely browned. |
