Dulce de leche is a divine Latin American caramel and isn’t hard to make. Give it some attention, and your family will love it... and thank you for it. This is by far the easiest, and my sources assure me, it's not cheating to do it this way. Ingredients:
Directions:
1. The classic in-the-can method is simple 2. Place unopened can(s) of condensed milk in a pot, well covered with water 3. You can do one can or several cans - depending on how big your pot is and your family's appetite for sweets 4. Bring the water to a boil 5. Keep at a low boil for 2-3 hours 6. Make sure the water level always stays above the top of the can 7. IMPORTANT: If the can isn’t submerged, it may explode. 8. The longer it cooks, the thicker the dulce de leche will be 9. 2 HRS = thick enough to drizzle 10. 3 HRS = thick enough to be candy 11. Make sure the can is thoroughly cool before you open it. 12. Pour into small jars, seal and keep in the fridge. |
