A wonderful and tasty layered salad. Prepare the evening before your event or familyget-together and enjoy the day. Classic. Ingredients:
1 head iceberg lettuce,shredded |
1/2 cup green onions , diced |
2 or 3 chopped tomatoes |
1/2 cup green pepper chopped |
1/2 cup celery, chopped |
1 can water chestnuts, sliced |
1 large bag frozen peas, thawed and drained |
1/3 cup parmeasean or cheddar cheese, shredded |
4 hard boiled eggs, diced |
1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped |
2 cups mayonaise |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper |
Directions:
1. In a deep bowl layer : (in order) 2. Lettuce 3. Onions 4. Celery 5. Pepper 6. Tomato 7. Chestnuts 8. Peas 9. Cheese 10. Eggs 11. Bacon 12. Spread Mayonaise over top 13. Do Not mix 14. Cover and refrigerate overnight 15. Garnish with tomatoes and green onions 16. Toss when ready to serve with salt and pepper |
