These buscuits are a family favorite and work great for breakfast with some sausage gravy and eggs.
Ingredients:
4 cp self rising flour
2 tbls crisco shortening
1 cp buttermilk
2 tbls butter (for brushing)
Directions:
1. Combine flour and crisco in a large bowl and mix with a fork until crumbly.
2. Add milk and stir to combine.
3. Lightly flour your work surface and drop the dough on it.
4. Knead as few times as possible just to get the dough combined.
5. Roll out a half inch thick and cut into circles ( I use a glass ).
6. Place onto lightly greased baking sheet and brush with softened butter.
7. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 mins or until lightly brown.
8. Take them out and brush the tops with more butter.
9. Serve immediately.
