This recipe goes with Fruitcake Loaf, Brandied Fruit Compote Ingredients:
3/4 cup pitted prunes |
1/2 cup dried apricots |
1/2 cup dried apple slices |
5 dried figs |
1 orange |
1 cup dried cranberries |
1/2 cup dried cherries |
1/2 cup flaked coconut |
1/4 cup raisins |
1/4 cup golden raisins |
1/2 cup brandy |
1/2 cup honey |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
Directions:
1. Place first 4 ingredients in a bowl. 2. Peel orange with a vegetable peeler, reserving sections for another use. Cut rind into very thin strips; stir rind and next 5 ingredients into prune mixture. 3. Combine brandy and next 3 ingredients in a saucepan; cook over medium heat 3 minutes or until warm. Pour over fruit mixture, stirring gently. Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 month. |
