Here's an easy way to dress them up a bit and give them your own special touch. This came from Cheap Cooking. I have not tried this, just posting for easy finding. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon olive oil |
1 onion, sliced |
15 ounces black beans, not drained (1 can) |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, chili powder or 1/2 teaspoon a few shakes red pepper flakes |
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a frying pan while you peel and slice the onion. Cook the onion very slowly until brown and caramelized. 2. Add the beans and the flavorings of your choice. 3. Simmer until the liquid is mostly evaporated. |
