Throw away the canned version this one is just as good, actually better I think. I prefer the real thing vs. Diet Dr. Pepper, but either one would work, I think. My Sister-In-Law contributed this to our family cookbook. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup dr. pepper cola |
6 ounces tomato paste |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
3 drops hot pepper sauce |
Directions:
1. Brown meat, breaking into small pieces, add garlic, onion and salt. 2. Cook 5 minutes. 3. Add remaining ingredients, stir well. 4. Simmer 20 minutes or until thick. 5. Spoon onto toasted buns. |
