I was cleaning out some of my old recipes and found this. I've had this recipe since the late '70's. I'm just estimating the prep time and how many brownies it makes. By recommendation from Chef#381180, I've changed the size of the pan to a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Ingredients:
1 cup margarine |
4 unsweetened chocolate squares |
2 cups sugar |
4 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour |
cooking spray |
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (softened at room temp.) |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. 3. Prepare cream cheese filling; set aside. 4. In microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate and margarine. 5. In large mixing bowl on medium speed, blend together chocolate mixture, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. 6. Add flour, mixing well. 7. Spread half of batter in prepared dish. 8. Spread cream cheese filling over batter. 9. Gently spread reamaining batter over filling. 10. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until brownies start to pull away from pan edges. 11. Let cool at room temperature. |
