Double Chocolate Brownies |

This is a family recipe. My mom always made these and I think my grandma did, too. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 cup sour cream |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour |
1/4 cup cocoa |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus more for the top, if you want) |
1 cup pecans (plus more for the top if you want) (optional) or 1 cup walnuts (plus more for the top if you want) (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Cream butter, sugar and egg. 3. Add sour cream and vanilla; beat well. 4. Combine dry ingredients and blend into creamed mixture. 5. Stir in chips and nuts. 6. Spread in a greased 9 inch square baking pan. 7. Bake for 30-35 minutes. 8. Top with extra chips and nuts before baking or right after. |
