This came from my former church's cookbook. The recipe says that it lasts for weeks in the refrigerator but I think it's best eaten within a couple of days. That's just my humble opinion. Ingredients:
1 head cabbage, grated |
1 bell pepper, grated |
1 onion, grated |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup vinegar |
1/2 teaspoon turmeric |
1 teaspoon mustard seeds |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Grate the cabbage, bell pepper and onion. 2. Bring to a boil the sugar, vinegar, turmeric, mustard seeds and salt. 3. Pour over the cabbage mixture. 4. Chill overnight. 5. Lasts for weeks in the refrigerator. |
