From Dolly Parton and her cookbook Dolly's Dixie Fixin's comes this recipe for the biscuits so popular at her restaurant, the Dixie Stampede. :) Ingredients:
5 tablespoons melted butter |
1 garlic clove, minced |
2 cups baking mix |
2/3 cup whole milk |
2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. 2. In a small bowl combine the butter and garlic; set aside. 3. In a medium bowl combine the baking mix with the milk and mix just until a soft dough forms. Do NOT over-mix. Add the cheese to the dough and stir to combine. If the dough still seems just a tad dry/sticky, go ahead and add a drop or two more of milk or water. 4. Using a teaspoon, drop the dough onto an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes. 5. Remove the biscuits from the oven and lightly brush with the butter-garlic mixture. 6. Serve warm. |
