My two yorkies love this doggy casserole. I divide it in half and freeze half. Yield depends on the size of your dog of course. One half recipe usually feeds them both for 5-6 meals, eating once per day. For one cooking session I've got food for about 2 weeks. It's cheap to make too. I usually buy the ground turkey in a roll, sold near the turkey sausage. Here in Dallas it's only $1.50 per pound per roll.
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground turkey
1 1/2 cups instant brown rice
1 3/4 cups water
1 carrot, diced small
3/4 cup frozen green pea
1 garlic clove, minced, for fleas and parasites (optional)
2 tablespoons olive oil, for coat (optional)
1 teaspoon sea salt, for the minerals (optional)
Directions:
1. Bring 1 3/4 c water to boil. Add rice and diced carrot. Cook according to directions on box of rice.
2. Brown ground chicken; when almost done add minced garlic and cook until just tender. Drain excess fat if necessary.
3. Stir in frozen peas, and sea salt.
4. Stir in cooked rice and carrots. Mix well.
5. Stir in olive oil.
