I got this one from a friend to jazz up a traditional baked bean recipe. Easy to double if making for a crowd :) great for tailgating to top on those grilled hot dogs! Ingredients:
28 ounce can pork and beans |
1 onion, chopped fine |
1 green pepper, chopped fine |
1 tomato, chopped fine |
1/2 cup dark brown sugar |
1/3 cup dr. pepper |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. 2. Drain liquid from pork and beans. 3. Pour into a baking dish (lightly grease if you wish) 4. Gently mix in onion, pepper and tomato. 5. Combine sugar, Dr. Pepper and cloves until sugar is dissolved. 6. Pour evenly over bean mixture. 7. Bake, covered, 30 minutes. 8. Serves 4 to 6. |
