Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup chopped dates |
1/4 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Combine butter and sugar in a medium mixing bowl; stir well. Add egg; stir until smooth. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to sugar mixture. Fold in dates and pecans. 2. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9-inch square baking pan. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes. Cool slightly in pan; cut into 2- x 1-inch bars. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. |
