My mother makes the best divinity. I think she got the recipe from her mother. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup water |
1/3 cup corn syrup |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
2 egg whites |
nuts |
Directions:
1. Cook the vinegar, sugar, syrup, and water to a thread stage. 2. Beat the egg whites. 3. Pour the cooked mixture over the egg whites. 4. Beat it. 5. Add nuts. 6. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper. 7. NOTES: Humidity will affect your divinity so don't cook if it's raining outside. |
