This is a quick CARAMEL SAUCE for caramel lovers. It is rich and divine. ..TOP ice cream, apple pie, bread pudding, pound cake, custard, etc. Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups sugar |
1/2 water |
3 tablespoons unsalted butter |
1 cup whipping cream |
Directions:
1. Stir sugar and 1/2 cup water in heavy saucepan over medium low heat until sugar dissolves 2. Increase heat 3. Boil without stirring until syrup turns deep amber 4. Occasionally brush down sides of pan with pastry brush dipped in water , and swirling pan around, for about 12 minutes 5. Remove from heat 6. Whisk in butter 7. Gradually add cream (mixture with bubble vigorously) 8. Stir over low heat until smooth 9. Cool to lukewarm before serving 10. NOTE: Can be made 2 days ahead. Cover; chill. Then rewarm over low heat, sitrring occasionally |
