This is a base recipe with some possible flavor combos to create a fun appetizer with familiar flavors but a unique form. :) Just pop 'em in your mouth for a quick taste of your favorite dip!
Ingredients:
for every 24 bites, you will need
1 8oz block cream cheese softened
1 cup crushed ingredient for rolling
beef cracker dip
4oz thin deli roast beef(or chipped beef), chopped
1t worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced(or 1/2t garlic powder)
roll in wheat or sesame cracker crumbs
chil cheese dip and tortilla chips
1/2 cup thick chili(but not with large chunks... buy hot dog chili, for example, or run homemade chili through a quick pulse in the food processor)
2 green onions, minced
1/2 cup pepperjack cheese, shredded
roll in tortilla chip or corn chip crumbs
raspberry mustard dip and pretzels
3t whole grain mustard
1t spicy brown mustard
2t raspberry all fruit spread
roll in crushed pretzels
mojito cheesecake bites and butter cookie crumbs
2t raw sugar(i used my own vanilla sugar)
about 8-10 medium/large fresh mint leaves, crushed
2t spiced rum
zest from 1 lime
roll in butter cookie crumbs
Directions:
1. Combine each dip ingredient with appropriate cream cheese(remember, all listings are enough for 1 8oz block of cream cheese)
2. Refrigerate for a few minutes...long enough to firm up slightly to ease in rolling, but not so cold that they don't hold the crumbs.
3. Roll about a scant T size of dip into the corresponding crumbs, creating a ball.
4. Serve immediately. They still taste good after they sit, but they lose their crunch! :)
