Found this onine a few years ago! Tastes just like a Ding Dong!!! Ingredients:
cake |
1 pkg devils food cake mix |
eggs, oil, etc as directed on package |
white filling |
1/2 cup milk |
4 tbsp flour |
pinch of salt |
1 stick butter |
1/2 cup crisco shortening |
1 cup sugar |
chocolate icing |
1 stick butter |
1 (6-oz) pkg chocolate chips |
4 tbsp karo syrup (light) |
prepare cake mix in 2 layers and let cool. spread white filling between each layer but not on top. pour chocolate icing over top and spread with a knife around all edges. keep in refrigerator. |
Directions:
1. CAKE 2. Prepare according to directions in 2 layers 3. WHITE FILLING 4. Cook milk, flour and salt until gooey and let cool. Add butter , crisco, and sugar. Mix until very fluffy. 5. CHOCOLATE ICING 6. Melt ingredients together in top of double boiler 7. Prepare cake mix in two layers and cool on wire rack 8. Spread white filling on bottom layer 9. Add 2nd layer of cake 10. Pour chocolate icing overall and spread around edges 11. Keep in refrigerator |
