A recipe that I found in an old church recipe book that belonged to my mother. I haven't tried yet. Ingredients:
1 (1/4 ounce) package yeast |
1/4 cup warm water |
1 cup cottage cheese (warm) |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1 tablespoon onion, minced |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 teaspoons dill seeds |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1 egg, unbeaten |
2 1/4-2 1/2 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and 2. combine with warm cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda and egg in large bowl. 3. Add flour to cottage cheese mixture. 4. Mix well. 5. Let rise until double in size. 6. Place in 2 qt casserole. 7. Allow to rise in same dish. 8. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. 9. Spread with butter when done baking. |
