Delicious bread And the best part is there is NO KNEADING,just mix the savory batter a nd let it rise. Ingredients:
1 pack active dry yeast( or 1 cake compressed yeast) |
1/4 cup warm water |
1 cup creamed cottage cheese,heated to luke warm |
2 tbs sugar |
1 tbs minced onion |
1 tbs butter |
2 tsp dill seed |
1 tsp salt |
1/4 tsp soda |
1 unbeated egg |
2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
Directions:
1. Soften yeast in water 2. Combine in the mixing bowl cottage cheese,sugar,onion,butter,dill seed salt,soda,egg and softened yeast 3. add flour tpo form a stiff dough,beating werll after each addition(for first addition of flour use mixer on low speed) 4. Cover let rise in warm place( 85 to 90 degrees) 5. Untillight abd doubled in size,50 to 60 min 6. Stir down dough, 7. turn into well greased 8 ins round 1 1/2 or 2 quart casserole 8. let rise in a warm place until light,30 to 40 min 9. bake at 350 for 40 to 50 min until golden brown. 10. brush with soft butter and sprinkle with salt 11. makes 1 round loaf |
