I love carrots, and this is a unique way to prepare them! I got the recipe from my great aunt, who got it from Pillsbury Real Home Cooking. Ingredients:
3/4 cup chicken broth |
1 lb carrot, cut into 2 x 1/4 inch strips |
1 cup sliced celery (1/2 inch thick) |
2 tablespoons sliced green onions |
2 tablespoons sugar |
3/4 teaspoon dried dill weed |
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained |
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes |
Directions:
1. Bring broth to a boil in large saucepan. 2. Add remaining ingredients except parsley. 3. Cover; reduce heat to medium. 4. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until carrots are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally. 5. Drain. 6. Sprinkle with parsley. |
