This is a yummy spinach side dish adapted from Kraft. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine |
1/2 cup chopped white onion |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1/4 cup white wine |
3 tablespoons flour |
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk |
1/4 cup dijon mustard |
1/8-1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper |
salt, to taste |
2 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry |
Directions:
1. In large saucepan on medium-high heat, melt butter; add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is crisp-tender. Add wine; simmer 5 minute 2. Stir in flour until well blended. Gradually add milk, stirring until well blended. Cook until mixture thickens and begins to boil, stirring constantly. Allow to boil for 1 minute. 3. Add mustard, pepper, and salt. Stir in spinach; cook until heated through, stirring occasionally. 4. Serve. |
