This is a lowfat, healthy, affordable meal by one of my students, Holly, made for a sandwich contest. Ingredients:
3 -4 slices turkey bacon |
2 leaves romaine lettuce |
1/2 tomato, sliced |
low-fat mayonnaise or miracle whip |
2 slices whole wheat bread |
2 green olives, for garnish |
Directions:
1. cook the bacon acording to label on package. 2. while the bacon is cooking, toast the bread. 3. spread the mayo/miracle whip on both slices of toast. 4. Put bacon on toast. 5. Put tomato on bacon, and lettuce on tomato. 6. Cut sandwich in half. 7. Place a toothpick with olive in each half. (optional). |
