I was craving a juicy French Dip sandwhich one day, but realized its probably very high in calories! So I thought this lighter version up and loved it! Hope you enjoy it too! Ingredients:
1 whole wheat roll (scoop out some of the breading to make it lighter) |
6 slices of oscar mayer slow roasted roast beef |
1 small yellow onion |
1 slice of 2% kraft swiss cheese |
1/2 cup of college inn beef broth |
1/4 teaspoon olive oil |
Directions:
1. Thinly slice onion. Sautee onion in olive oil over low to medium heat until carmalized (about 10 minutes). 2. Shred roast beef slices and add to pan with onion. Stir to combine and mix until heated through, about 2-3 minutes. 3. Pile onion and roast beef in center of pan and top with cheese. Turn off heat and let the cheese melt slightly. Fold over mixture to combine cheese, onion and roast beef. 4. Put whole wheat roll under broiler until lightly crispy. Pile roast beef mixture onto roll. 5. Put beef broth into a small microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 1 minute, or until hot. 6. Dip sections of your delcious sandwhich into beef broth as you eat! |
