You can use any diet cola type soda for this recipe. The soda gives the sloppy joes a sweetness rather than tang. If your a Weight Watcher you can count 3 points for the sloppy joe but add points for whatever you serve it on. The recipe is core if you serve it over couscous or brown rice. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 1/2 tablespoons arrowroot |
1 cup diet cola |
2/3 cup ketchup |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
2 teaspoons mustard |
Directions:
1. Brown beef and onion in a large skillet. . 2. Drain well. 3. Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix well. 4. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. |
