This cake will disappear before you turn around .......... For the buttercream frosting , I used white sugar . Ingredients:
9 oz butter |
3 c packed light brown sugar |
3 eggs |
1 c unsweetened cocoa pwd , mixed in 1 1/4 c hot water |
2 2/3 c flour , 1 1/2 tsp baking soda , 3/4 tsp salt |
3/4 c cold water |
1 c white or brown sugar |
1/2 c water |
5 egg whites |
2 tbsp butter |
Directions:
1. Beat the butter until creamy . 2. Add the sugar and beat until mixed . 3. Add the eggs and essence . 4. Add the cocoa . 5. Now add the dry ing. 6. Add the cold water and mix well . 7. Pre heat oven at 180 deg C . 8. Pour the batter in 2 - 9 inch greased pan . 9. bake for 35 to 45 mis . 10. Cool and frost . 11. ........................................... 12. Frosting and Filling : 13. Bring the sugar and water to boil without stirring . 14. Continue to boil until soft ball stage without stirring . 15. Beat the egg whites . 16. Pour in the syrup in a slow steady stream . 17. Beat until it cools . 18. Add the butter bit by bit . 19. Beat well . 20. It will separate . 21. Continue to beat until it comes together looking like a whipped butter . |
