This is a recipe from an old church cookbook of my mother's from Okoee, Florida during the time my grandfather was a minister there. Ingredients:
2 lbs round steaks, cut into serving pieces |
1/2 cup flour |
salt and pepper |
1 cup sliced onion |
1 tablespoon mustard powder |
2 tablespoons cooking oil |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed tomato soup |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. 2. In a large shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, and mustard powder. 3. Dredge round steak in this mixture. 4. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown steak on both sides. 5. Remove and place in a shallow baking dish. 6. Add remaining ingredients to skillet, stirring well to pick up the bits on the bottom of the pan. 7. Pour over the steak. 8. Cover with tin foil and bake for 2 hours. |
