This pizza dough is perfect for a pizza stone. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon active dry yeast |
1 1/2 cups warm water, 110 degrees |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
cooking spray |
Directions:
1. Warm the bowl of a stand mixer, with the dough hook attachment. 2. Add the water and yeast, then whisk to dissolve. 3. Allow the yeast to activate for 5 minutes. 4. Add the salt and stir to dissolve. 5. Add 3 cups of the flour. 6. Run the mixer on low until the dough forms and pulls away from the bowl, 5 to 7 minutes. 7. Add the remaining flour as needed. 8. The bowl should be fairly clean when dough is done. 9. Cut dough into 4 equal pieces. 10. With the dough in both hands turn it inside itself so knuckles touch to get air pockets out and to get a round shape. 11. Knead this way 6 to 7 times. 12. Avoid stretching the dough too hard, or it will rip the top. 13. At the bottom of the dough ball seal it by twisting the dough so that it is round on top and sealed on the bottom. 14. Spray 4 clean bowls with cooking spray. 15. Add a dough ball to each one and cover with plastic wrap. 16. Let the dough sit for between 30 to 60 minutes until it almost doubled in size. 17. Refrigerate for 1 hour. 18. Cook at 500 degrees. |
