Ingredients:
1 large acorn squash |
1/4 lb ground pork |
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
to taste butter |
Directions:
1. Cut squash in half, and remove seeds. 2. Cook, covered, in boiling water for 10 minutes. 3. Scoop pulp from shells. 4. Cook pork until brown; stir in apple and pulp. 5. cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring often. 6. Add sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and slat; mix w ell. 7. Spoon into squash shells; dot with butter. 8. Place shells in a shallow pan; bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
