If you want the easiest, yet not the quickest, fresh-squeezed lemonade recipe, this is it! Delicious! It's just like the lemonade you get a local fairs and festivals! My recipe will make a full 2 quart pitcher-full, plus two extra glasses. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
6 cups water |
2 cups fresh lemon juice |
lemon slices and mint sprigs for garnish |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, heat sugar and 2 cups of water to a boil. 2. Stir to dissolve sugar. 3. Simmer for 5 minutes. 4. Let cool. 5. Refrigerate syrup until chilled. 6. Squeeze approximately 12 lemons to get 2 cups of juice...I bought a 3 lb, bag of lemons at Sam's Club and it was the perfect amount. 7. In a pitcher, mix the remaining water, lemon juice, and chilled syrup. 8. Serve in tall glasses over ice. 9. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves, if desired. |
