I got this recipe from my husband's 86 year old grandmother who is a marvelous hostess and entertainer even today. Ingredients:
6 chicken breasts, halved |
12 slices swiss cheese, to cover chicken |
1 (8 ounce) can cream of chicken soup or 1 (8 ounce) can mushroom soup |
2 cups bread dressing (pepperidge farm works best) |
1/4 cup white wine |
1/2 cup butter |
Directions:
1. 1. Thin and mix soup with wine. 2. 2. Moisten the dressing/bread crumbs with butter. 3. 3. Place chicken in casserole dish. 4. 4. Cover with cheese. 5. 5. Spread soup mixture over all. 6. 6. Cover with dressing and drop a few slices of butter over top. 7. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
