From a collection of my mother's recipe box. It can be used over meatballs or steak. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chopped onions |
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine |
1 tablespoon flour |
1/4 cup red wine |
3/4 cup beef broth |
2 tablespoons ketchup |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
salt |
Directions:
1. Cook onions in butter until soft. 2. Stir in flour and cook for one minute. 3. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes. 4. Never let sauce boil. |
